I write in connection with your request for information dated 13th August 2019 and received by this office on that date. Below are the questions raised in your request, and our response.
Please could you provide me with the following information:
1. The number of individuals who have applied (whether successfully or unsuccessfully) to have their name removed from the Sex Offenders Register. Please provide the figures for 2016, 2017 and 2018. Please also provide a breakdown of the category of crime these individuals had committed (e.g. rape, child abuse).
2016 – 3
Rape of female under 16 years,
Gross indecency with child (girl),
indecent assault on female under 14
rape of female over age of 16
Gross indecency with child (girl)
indecent assault on female under 16.
2017 – 4
Indecent Assault on female under 16.
Indecent assault on female under 14

Rape of female over 16 years.

Indecent assault on female under 16
2017 – 2
Indecent assault of female under age of 16
Indecent assault of female 16 or over

Intercourse with girl under 13.
There was also an application made for removal but the applicant died before a decision was made regarding removal based on risk.
