I write in connection with your request for information dated 13th May 2020 and received by this office on 14th May 2020. Below are the questions raised in your request and our response.
I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please provide the number of offences of speeding vehicles enforced in April 2019 and April 2020.
Please provide separate figures for each of the two periods.
If possible, please provide the maximum speed for each speed limit (20/30/40/50/60 and 70mph).
April 2019 = 1115
Maximum speeds:
44mph in a 20 limit
88 mph in a 30
68mph in a 40
95mph in a 50
96mph in a 60
95mph in a 70
April 2020 – 58
Maximum speeds:
31mph in a 20 limit
49mph in a 30
60mph in a 40
77mph in a 50
No enforcements for speeding in a 60 mph zone
90mph in a 70

The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that Police Forces do not use generic systems or identical procedures to capture and record data therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.
