FOI 304-24 Repeat Offenders
I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request, Below is your request and our response.
I am writing to request the number of repeat offenders your force dealt with between 2018 and 2023 (1st January 2018 - 31st December 2023).
Repeat offenders are defined as those who in any one year received a caution (for adults), a final warning or reprimand (for juveniles), a non-custodial conviction, or were discharged from custody.
Please see below a table of repeated arrestees please be mindful that the if an individual was arrested, this does not mean that actions were taken against them or that they had committed the crime. In addition, a person may be arrested for multiple crimes at one time which wouldn’t show up as a repeat but if they were arrested for one crime last week and then another one today then they would.
Custody records are only searchable for 3 years and therefore I can only provide these years to ensure have records in the 12 months prior to them.
Information on Cautions and Convictions is not held by Cleveland police.

If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request, you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response or 40 working days if extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.
