I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request, firstly please accept my apology for the delay. Below is your request and our response.
Please include the following information for the following financial years, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23:
2020/21
£3,367,814.06
The total overtime pay received in 20/21 for the officer who received the most was £42,562.92. This officer is a Sgt and worked across multiple departments.
2021/22
£3,869,688.24
The total overtime pay received in 21/22 for the officer who received the most was £43,687.51. This officer is a Sgt and worked across multiple departments.
2022/23
£4,311,354.04
The total overtime pay received in 22/23 for the officer who received the most was £32,402.48. This officer is a PC and worked across multiple departments.
Please note the figures are for overtime payments, excluding NI etc. The overtime figures/costs include all overtime paid to Cleveland officers of which there will be hours recharged to other forces etc for mutual aid/operational needs.
The overtime figures provided are based upon costs coded to the ledger including accruals.
Please note that all statistical data supplied in relation to Freedom of Information requests is a snapshot of data held at the time the request was received by the Freedom of Information office and is subject to constant change/updates.
The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that Police Forces do not use generic systems or identical procedures to capture and record data therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.
If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request, you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response or 40 working days if extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.
