I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request, Below is your request and our response.
1/ how many times has your police force/service attended asylum seekers/refugees accommodation/hotels within your area in the previous 12 months from today's date, the 2nd February 2024.
2/ what is the number of asylum seekers/refugees accommodation/hotels your force/service have attended in your area in the previous 12 months form today's date, 2nd February 2024.
3/ how many asylum seekers/refugees have been arrested by your force/service in your area in the previous 12 months from today's date, 2nd February 2024.
4/ what is the breakdown of the offences asylum seekers/refugees have been arrested for (ie sexual offences, assaults, theft, drugs, arson/criminal damage) in your area in the previous 12 months from today's date, 2nd February 2024.
5/ how many asylum/refugee hotels are within your area.
6/ how many asylum seekers/refugees have been given probation, community orders or just a warning in your area in the previous 12 months from today's date, 2nd February 2024.
We have made enquiries within the force and can confirm we do not have a marker to identify asylum seekers and/or refugees and therefore the information requested is not held in a retrievable format.
The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that Police Forces do not use generic systems or identical procedures to capture and record data therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.
If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request, you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response or 40 working days if extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.
