FOI 220-24 Dog Theft

I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request, Below is your request and our response.

 

I am requesting the number of thefts be broken down over the last five years, by calendar year (2018 -2023).

The below table shows how many reported dogs were stolen between 2018-2023 (this does not include attempted theft).  As there is no crime code for dog thefts, the below includes a manual assessment of all theft/burglary crimes where “dog” or “puppy” appears in the MO comments of the record.  Please also note these figures include cases where the dog was returned:
