I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
Every effort is made to ensure that the data provided by Cleveland Police is accurate and complete. However, Cleveland Police systems are designed primarily for the management of individual cases and not for the purposes of providing data to answer specific FOI enquiries. Please note although data can be extracted from a number of sources via database queries, the results may be subject to inaccuracies.
Care should be taken to understand our return when considering the interpretation or further use of the data.
Please note:
The below answers do not contain any information on those with no DOB recorded.
Number of individual adults reported missing in the last rolling twelve months.
Total number of missing “periods” reported to your force (1 adult reported as missing twice would be two “periods).
67 adults were missing more than once in the 12 months
Percentage of adults who are known to have been caused harm during a missing person episode.
Percentage of adults who are known to have caused themselves harm during a missing person episode.
We do not record harm caused to the missing is not recorded at the case management system level therefore to determine such detail would require a manual search through all the records. This would be a time consuming process which would initiate the excess cost exemption.
Percentage of these adults reported as missing who could be considered as “frequent mispers” (10+ episodes in a rolling twelve month period).
Number of individual children reported missing in the last rolling twelve months.
Total number of missing “periods” for children.
3276 were not repeats
Total number of these children reported missing from care homes.
Percentage of children who have been caused harm during a missing person episode.
Percentage of children who have caused themselves harm during a missing person episode.
Percentage of these children that have been reported as missing who could be considered as “frequent mispers” (20+ episodes in a rolling twelve month period).
We do not record harm caused to the missing is not recorded at the case management system level therefore to determine such detail would require a manual search through all the records. This would be a time consuming process which would initiate the excess cost exemption.
