I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
I am requesting a breakdown of the number of incidences of tool and equipment thefts from vans reported to your police force and the value of the stolen tools and equipment. I am requesting figures for the past year (2023).
In particular, can you provide me with:
- The total number of reported thefts of tools and equipment from vans in 2023.
- a) The analyst has looked at crimes of theft from a vehicle validated between the timeframe of 01/01/2023 – 31/12/2023 where the linked stolen property was in the category of ‘Machinery or Tools’ or alternatively contained the word tool. The total volume of crimes within this timeframe was 186 and the volume of property stolen was 306.
