Dear Sir/Madam
Enquiry Reference: 1009 - 24
I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
I would like domestic violence and domestic abuse statistics for the last 15 years across Teesside please. I am particularly interested in seeing rates for both male perpetrated abuse and male perpetrated Intimate Relationship Violence, as well as female perpetrated abuse, and female perpetrated Intimate Relationship Violence. I am wanting the amount of calls received per year for both male and female perpetrated abuse and IRV, and also any outcome statistics for both males and females too (cautions or charges brought).
Please note recording and definitions have changed a lot over this time period so cannot be comparing like for like and we cannot for the whole time period requested. There has been lots of changes in crime recording rules which has impacted DA volumes over time.
Since April 2018 the changes have had a smaller impact on volumes, but there has still been changes in the primary recording rule in relation to malicious comms and harassment since then.
The information below is for domestic abuse crimes, which includes violence as well as sexual violence, emotional, coercive or controlling behaviour, and economic abuse.
