I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
- The total number of offences recorded by your force involving a 'zombie knife' or machete (taking this to include any knife or sharp instrument which is 8 inches / 20cm long or longer) between:
Please note that the below information provided relies on the officer to define if they believe the blade is a zombie knife, machete etc. The analyst has used key word searches in the MO for ‘zombie’, ‘machete’ and ‘machette’, and provided all the information we hold BUT not all officers will have specified the type of blade also the crime type does not mean that the blade caused the injury, but it was present during the incident for example, for murder, the person may not have been killed with the blade.
- Please also break down the total number of offences into two categories:
1) Offences involving injuring or fatally wounding someone with a 'zombie knife' or machete (using definition outlined above)
2) Any other offences
