Training (For each of the years 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023)
Total number hours allocated to National Decision Model (NDM) Training for student officers in their first 24 months service.
Following this, officers get a further 2 hours training from public personal safety training staff which focuses particularly on use of force and offender profile behaviour.
As well as these bespoke sessions, the NDM is continually thread through sessions to help officers to be able make decisions that are justified, rational and consider the law. This makes it difficult to quantify in terms of the total number of hours spent on this particular topic. Public and personal safety training is now scenario based and there is a heavy focus of decision making using the NDM.
