I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
1) The number of offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 reported to Cleveland Police since 1st January 2024
2) The total number of charges for summary offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 brought by Cleveland Police since 1st January 2024; and the number of convictions resulting from these charges.
3) The number of cases relating to offences under Clause 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 referred to the Crown Prosecution Service by Cleveland Police since 1st January 2024.
The offences covered searched for are; 088/15 - Sharing or threatening to share intimate photograph or film, 175/08 - Share photograph or film of person in intimate state WITHOUT CONSENT Contrary to section 66B(1) and (9) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. I have provided for question one the volume of crimes recorded which were validated between 1st January 2024 and 1st June 2025.

Please note it is the duty of Cleveland Police to identify and apprehend suspects, decisions regarding prosecutions are the responsibility of the Crown Prosecution Service and Convictions is that of HM Courts Service therefore Conviction data is held by HM Courts.
