I write in connection with regards to your Freedom of Information request. Below is your request and our response.
How many new exposure investigations were opened, how many exposure investigations were finalised, how many of the finalised investigations had a named investigating officer allocated, and how many were deployed to at any point, in each calendar year from 2019 to 2025? I specifically mean offence title of exposure, rather than the wider offence category of exposure and voyeurism.
Please see below table. This includes all validated crimes between 01/01/2019 – 31/12/2025 where the crime class is recorded as 088/09 – Exposure:
Please note that ALL crimes are initially investigated, but those that are screened in go on for further investigation by an investigating officer where there are reasonable lines of enquiry.
