The collision involved a Land Rover and a pedestrian and occurred in Billingham on Friday 23rd August.
72-year-old William Lewis sadly died as a result of the collision and a 37-year-old man has appeared in court and pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
Following the collision, the driver of the Land Rover was picked up by someone driving the white transit van (shown in the image) and officers are appealing for the driver of this van to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries.
The van was recovered in Port Clarence.
