Stockton District Weekly Round Up

Over the last week, officers from the Stockton District have attended over 500 incidents, arrested nearly 100 people and seized drugs, weapons, a Land Rover and a dog as a result of some of the incidents.

 

The below roundup covers incident details and figures relating to the work undertaken by officers and staff from the Incident Response Team (IRT), Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the Stockton district over the last seven days.

 

 

NPT

A Land Rover Discovery vehicle, a dog, cocaine, cannabis and weapons were seized by Neighbourhood Officers resulting in a number of arrests after the team dealt with the below incidents:

  • A suspected stolen vehicle (Land Rover) was seized in Billingham.
  • The team assisted an animal shelter with seizing a dog from a property on Wren Street under the animal welfare act.
  • 75 cannabis farms were seized from a property in Thornaby after concerns were raised about the electricity supply at the premises.
  • Cocaine and cannabis were seized from a male, 17, in the town centre after officers stopped and searched him after he was sighted acting suspiciously.
  • A chainsaw, knives and machetes were seized from a house on Howard Place.
  • Trading Standards were assisted by the team at a shop in Thornaby after illegal products were being sold. A closure order notice has been placed on the property.
  • A gun (possibly an air rifle) and two bladed weapons were seized from a property in Norton, as well as drugs.

IRT

It’s been a very busy week for Response Officers who attended 425 incidents. This is a significant rise in compared to last week’s figures and resulted in 72 people being arrested.

Some of the incidents attended include:

  • Two people charged in connection with the theft of oil drums. The suspects were reportedly caught stealing them by officers.
  • A male was arrested for stalking and malicious communications.
  • Another male arrested for threats to cause damage.
  • One man arrested for burglary, ABH and criminal damage.
  • Officers also participated in the VAWG week of action.

 

CID

Detectives from CID have been dealing a with a number of arrests this week for a number of offences ranging from burglaries, theft, fraud and assault.

Some of the incidents dealt with include:

  • A woman has been charged with theft and fraud and appeared at court yesterday. An elderly woman was reportedly targeted during the incident.
  • Three males (two teenagers and a man) have been charged in connection with three 2 in 1 burglaries. Two of the three vehicles were recovered, and enquiries are ongoing to recover the third vehicle.
  • A male was arrested on suspicion of three attempted burglaries and has been bailed pending enquiries.
