Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a black VW Passat vehicle and pedestrian (a woman in her 60s) on Broadwell Road in Middlesbrough.
The collision occurred yesterday, Tuesday 10th October at 9:10pm.
The woman suffered broken arms and wrists and an injury to her head and is receiving treatment at James Cook University Hospital.
Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle aged 27 on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and he remains in custody.
Anyone with information/ footage of the collision is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 202531.
