Police were contacted just before 2.40am on Sunday with a report of a ram raid on Nunthorpe High Street (Guisborough Road).
It was reported a vehicle had driven into shutters at Godleys Cycles’ before becoming wedged.
At least four people are then believed to have left the scene on two quadbikes.
Officers conducted an area search but unfortunately they were unable to locate any suspects.
This incident follows a series of similar reports which police are investigating; they all involved commercial premises in the Redcar and Cleveland area being targeted by suspects on quad bikes:
On 29th October and on 12th December KFC on Roseberry Road in Redcar was targeted.
On 29th October In The Dog House in Marske was targeted.
And on Saturday, 16th December, an army surplus store on Skippers Lane was also affected.
Officers are keeping an open mind as to any potential link between all the incidents.
We would appeal for anyone with information, doorbell, dashcam or private CCTV of any of these incidents to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number.
If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning them on 0800 555 111.
