Appeal following spate of burglaries in Middlesbrough

Cleveland Police is appealing for information following a series of burglaries which occurred over the last month in the Linthorpe Road area of Middlesbrough.

Officers in Middlesbrough CID are investigating five burglaries, in which money and items were stolen, and one attempted burglary.

The incidents occurred at:

  • Burgerlicious, Linthorpe Road, 10th December between 12.30am 1.20am (job number 242089)
  • Lezzets Turkish and Italian Cuisine, Linthorpe Road, on 14th December at around 3.45am (job number 244256)
  • Heron Food, Linthorpe Road, on 17th December at 5.27am (job number 246339)
  • Collier Property Management, Linthorpe Road, on 17th December at 5.29am (job number 246360)
  • Sushi Panda, Linthorpe Road, on 18th December between 2.00am and 5.30am (job number 246445)
  • Attempted burglary at Macy Browns, Linthorpe Road, on 20th December between 4.35am and 4.45am (job number 248196)

Officers are reminding business owners about what they can do to try and help protect their premises from being targeted such as:

  • Ensuring that cash is removed from any business premises or stored in a bolted down safe.
  • Make sure that stock rooms are locked and, where possible, keep stock out of sight.
  • Conceal the interior of your premises with shutters or by drawing blinds.
