Officers from Middlesbrough Proactive Team stopped a car they believed was acting suspiciously on Valley Road in Middlesbrough at 9pm on Friday 27th December.
A large amount of suspected heroin and a large amount of cash were recovered from the vehicle.
Two men, aged 51 and 57, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. The 51-year-old man was detained to court for breach of previous bail conditions and the 57-year-old man released under investigation.
