Police and partners are working together to deal with a recent rise in youth ASB in central Redcar by engagement and education and, starting today, Friday evening free diversionary activities on the Esplanade by Streets organisation.
Incidents have included criminal damage and public order offences (some racially aggravated).
We’ve listened to local people’s concerns – please continue to report and we will take action.
Whilst we prefer to engage with young people and tell them how such behaviour impacts the wider community as well as themselves, we will use enforcement measures if we need to.
These could include issuing an AS13 form and if there’s a repeat of the behaviour, an Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC) could be given.
Please ask your children where they are and what they’re doing when away from home.
You can report crime/ASB at any time via the 101 number or online via our website. Always use 999 in an emergency.
