Two men have been arrested after a number of fuel thefts from unattended vehicles and machinery at commercial sites in the Redcar and Cleveland area.
On the evening of Wednesday 21st February, officers received a report of an ongoing break-in at a building site in the Guisborough area.
Officers from Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team responded and spotted a vehicle which was stopped by officers and searched.
A large number of fuel containers, some with fuel in them, were recovered from the car and two men aged 36 and 39 were arrested on suspicion of a number of theft offences.
A subsequent address search led to the recovery of suspected class A drugs and a 39-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Both men were bailed in connection with the theft and drug offences.
A 39-year-old man was charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to provide a sample. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court in March.
