Just after 12.05pm today (Monday 10th June), police were called to an address in Howe Street in Middlesbrough after hearing that a male was making threats and was in possession of a weapon.
Officers attended however it was confirmed that no incident was taking place, no-one had sustained any injuries, and no one wished to report any incident.
On searching the property, police recovered a machete and a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
He has been taken into custody where he will be questioned. Enquiries are ongoing.
