The 22-year-old, of Central Avenue, was arrested by detectives on Monday 17 June and taken into police custody for questioning.
In the early hours of Wednesday 19 June he was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Wednesday 19 June where he was remanded until his appearance at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday 18 July.
The charges relate to a man who is suspected of driving dangerously to cause harm to a group of people following a distrubance at The Green Tree pub on Gilkes Street on the evening of Sunday 16 June. One woman sustained serious injuries to her leg and has since been discharged from hospital.
