A dispersal order will run from this evening (Friday 22nd March) in the Middlesbrough town centre area after an increase in reports of antisocial behaviour involving large groups of youths on foot and on bicycles.
There have also been reports of intimidation to members of the public, shop staff and criminal damage.
The order gives officers the powers to ask anyone in large groups to leave the area for 48 hours. Anyone who returns can then be arrested for breaching the order.
Officers will be conducting high visibility patrols in the area across the weekend and anyone suspected of being involved in antisocial behaviour will be asked to leave the area.
The area bounded by the order is bordered by A66, Hartington Road, Borough Road, Marton Road.
Anyone who may wish to report ASB incidents in this area are asked to call 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
