Hartlepool PCSO Yas Calvert celebrated International Women’s Day at the Salaam Centre on Murray Street in Hartlepool, on Friday 9 March.
Women working on various projects across Hartlepool - including Sylvia Ochuba from Community Development and Cohesion, Natalie Franlan from ‘Reloved Clothing’ and ‘Wellness Walks’, Carol Slattery from Hartlepool Health Watch and Ameera Hussain from Sustran - met to discuss issues women in the town face on a daily basis.
PCSO Yas Calvert said: “This was a fantastic evening, with women from different communities giving each other confidence to speak up about some difficult issues. There was so much to cover, it is hoped that this can become a regular meeting at the centre.”
