Detectives in Hartlepool are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a report that a man had been assaulted in the early hours of today (Saturday 4th May).
Police received a call just before 00:40am from ambulance service colleagues who said members of the public had found the man near the library on the town’s York Road and they believed his multiple facial and head injuries were due to an assault.
The 32-year-old man was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital.
Enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who was in the York Road area late last night into early this morning or who has any relevant doorbell/dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
Please contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 081637.
If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
