Last night just before 5.30pm officers were on Harrow Street in Hartlepool on an unrelated matter when an unaccompanied dog attacked a dog who was being walked by its owner. A taser was deployed as an officer had hold of the dog and the officer sustained a minor injury during the process.
The animal was then seized and removed to an appropriate facility whilst enquiries continue.
A 27 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control in a public area.
