Matrix officers arrest two people after suspected stolen vehicle stopped

Matrix officers arrested two people after a suspected stolen vehicle was stopped on the A1027 slip road off the A19.

The vehicle was stopped shortly before 9am this morning (27^th September) by Matrix officers with the help of Durham Constabulary.

Following enquiries conducted by officers, the vehicle was found to have been reported stolen from the Northumbria Police area.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and she was bailed pending further enquiries.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and he was bailed pending further enquiries.
