A Stockton man has been sentenced after he sexually assaulted a woman and took photos of her without her consent.
Officers discovered photos on Michael Lesko’s phone when he was arrested in November 2023 and he was subsequently charged with sexual assault and voyeurism.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to the offences.
The 29-year-old from Thornaby appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Monday 2nd September where he was sentenced to 12 months in prison suspended for two years.
A restraining order was put in place preventing him from contacting the victim for seven years.
He will also spend 10 years on the sex offender register and he was ordered to carry out 35 days of rehabilitation activity.
Investigating officer, Lewis Hill from Cleveland Police’s Cyber Crime Unit said: “This has been an extremely distressing and traumatic time for the victim and I’d like to commend her for the courage and resilience she has shown throughout.
“If you would like to report something to us, we have specially trained officers who will support you throughout the process. You can report at any time of day or night online via the Cleveland Police website or by phoning 101.”
