Detectives from Middlesbrough CID who are investigating two ram raid incidents on Acklam Road last week are now also looking at three other incidents which they believe are linked to each other.
JD Sports at Cleveland Retail Park was targeted at around 10am on Saturday 29th March when a silver vehicle pulled up and three people got out and ran into the store, grabbing a large amount of goods before being driven away. A store staff member was assaulted as they tried to stop the suspects from leaving the shop.
That evening, at around 10.40pm, the Premier Store on Ayresome Road in Middlesbrough was rammed by a silver Audi before it was driven off towards Linthorpe Road. Nothing was taken in this incident however damage was caused to the property and items at the front of the shop.
Moments later, a silver Audi was attempted to be driven into the Anglers Choice store on Cumberland Road, also in Middlesbrough. When this was unsuccessful, it was driven away.
Enquiries into all the incidents are continuing, and we’d urge anyone who has not yet spoken to police or provided doorbell, dash cam or CCTV footage to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 054590 for the JD Sports incident, 055067 for the Premier Store, Ayresome Road incident and 055074 for the Anglers Choice incident.
If you don’t want to speak to police, you can pass information anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
