Three men have been charged over the weekend by Middlesbrough proactive team officers, after suspected drugs were reportedly seized by them on three separate occasions.
On Friday 25th April, an 18-year-old man was charged after a suspected drug deal was spotted by officers on Parliament Road. During the alleged incident an officer was reportedly punched twice to the face.
A total of 64 wraps of crack cocaine were seized and the man was due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Saturday 26th April, charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and assault on an emergency worker.
On Saturday 26th April, officers stopped a car with the assistance of Field Intelligence Officers on Coulby Manor Way.
A 30-year-old male passenger was searched and suspected cannabis, a phone and cash were recovered. The male was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Monday 28th April).
A subsequent search of an address led to the recovery of more suspected cannabis, cash and phones.
Following this search, a 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis and has been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
On Sunday 27th April, a 31-year-old man was arrested after a suspected drug deal took place in the St Barnabas Road area of Middlesbrough.
32 deals of crack cocaine were reportedly recovered and around £500 in cash was also seized.
An officer suffered a minor injury which was treated at hospital after being bitten by a dog during the alleged incident.
A 31-year-old man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Monday 28th April) charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs, obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty, possession of criminal property and concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.
