Matrix have today, Saturday 5 April 2025, arrested three teenage boys aged 13, 14 and 15, following a pursuit involving a car being driven dangerously in Thornaby and Middlesbrough.
The car, a pale blue Vauxhall Vectra, has been seen numerous times in recent days in the area, being driven in a manner which has posed a risk to the public.
Today, Cleveland Police caught up with the vehicle and the occupants, after a pursuit in Thornaby and then the Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough led to officers finding the abandoned vehicle and locating the three occupants nearby.
The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop, Aggravated Taking Without Consent (TWOC), Fail to Provide and Going Equipped to steal. The 14- and 13-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of Aggravated Vehicle Taking.
All remain in custody while enquiries continue.

“Matrix officers have worked hard to ensure we could safely take this vehicle off the roads and find those responsible for driving the vehicle in a manner which put other road users at risk.
“We will continue to ensure we protect people and protect communities – and this includes all road users. Anyone we find to be breaking the law on the roads of Teesside and putting others a risk will find themselves being targeted by Matrix.”
