Officers are appealing for dashcam footage after a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) was reported to be driving with a loose trailer on the A19.
Around 10:45am today, Monday 18th August, an emergency call was received from a member of the public reporting a loose trailer swinging across lanes of the A19.
It was reported that the loose trailer was causing a danger to road users and was making it unsafe for people to overtake the HGV safely.
Officers located a white Scania tractor unit which had a blue back, on the A19 just prior to Crathorne on the southbound carriageway.
The HGV is believed to have travelled from the Peterlee area on the A19 southbound towards Crathorne.
A 55-year-old man was reported for summons for dangerous driving.
Anyone with dash cam footage of the HGV and trailer is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 156764, or upload the footage directly here: https://unitedkingdom1cpp-portal.digital-policing.co.uk/cleveland/appeal/appeal-for-footage-of-hgv-and-trailer
