A man has been sentenced after Middlesbrough Proactive Team officers found him in possession of class A drugs when they sighted him on a scooter and he acted suspiciously.
Officers located Donnelly with a scooter that had been seen in suspicious circumstances earlier at the rear of an address on Alnwick Court in Middlesbrough on Saturday 28th December 2024.
The scooter was seized along with another mini moto which was damaged, and when Donnelly was searched he was found in possession of an extendable baton and suspected cocaine and heroin believed to be worth just over £1200.
39-year-old Paul James Donnelly, formerly of Bolton Court, Middlesbrough, was sentenced to three years in prison at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday 19th February.

Middlesbrough Proactive Team Sergeant John Sproson said: “Middlesbrough Proactive Team will relentlessly pursue those causing misery for Middlesbrough communities by peddling drugs on our streets. This criminality won’t be tolerated and we are sending a message to those who are involved in drugs activity that they are not welcome and they will be brought to justice and put before the courts.”
