Appeal after two men are violently assaulted in a Middlesbrough park.

Detectives from Middlesbrough CID are asking for witnesses to and footage of an apparently unprovoked violent incident in the town’s Albert Park.

It is reported that a group of 15 men attacked two victims near the gates and the museum at the Linthorpe Road end of the park at around 7.30pm last Thursday, 26^th June. 

The assailants were described as having various weapons including knives, poles and hammers.  One victim sustained a head injury and the other received injuries to his arm and hand.

We understand there were several people present - some of whom were videoing the assault - and we’d urge these witnesses as well as anyone else with information to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 117980.
