Detectives from Middlesbrough CID are asking for witnesses to and footage of an apparently unprovoked violent incident in the town’s Albert Park.
It is reported that a group of 15 men attacked two victims near the gates and the museum at the Linthorpe Road end of the park at around 7.30pm last Thursday, 26th June.
The assailants were described as having various weapons including knives, poles and hammers. One victim sustained a head injury and the other received injuries to his arm and hand.
We understand there were several people present - some of whom were videoing the assault - and we’d urge these witnesses as well as anyone else with information to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 117980.
If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
