Sorry, there was a technical problem. Please try again.
This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
We’re working hard to tackle issues and concerns raised by you, our local community.
We regularly ask where you want us to focus our efforts and then we deploy our resources accordingly.
In the past few months, we’ve executed multiple drugs warrants and have recovered large amounts of drugs and weapons from the streets.
Several people have also been arrested on suspicion of the importation of cannabis, following packages being intercepted as they were entering the country. They have all been bailed while extensive enquiries continue.
Antisocial behaviour is often a concern for you; a property in Bankfields is now subject to a closure order due to repeated ASB from the address. This was achieved by working with our colleagues at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council. We will continue to pursue these useful civil orders wherever appropriate and whenever possible.
Similarly, five people have been issued with a Community Protection Warning in relation to ASB.
Finally, we continue to receive your reports of nuisance/illegal off-road bikes and vehicles and we’ve taken decisive action based on this information and upon the intelligence we gather ourselves:
In mid-December, a motorbike which had been stolen from Carlin How was seized from an address in Redcar Road East in South Bank. A woman was arrested, and enquiries are ongoing.
Then in January, and with the support of our Special Constabulary colleagues, we ran another Operation Endurance day of action. A “community car” which failed to stop for police was soon located in Slater Road, Grangetown. It was also found to be uninsured, so it was seized.
Another stolen vehicle was recovered – this time on 30th January at Teesville allotments. It had been taken from the Marton area of Middlesbrough.
Into February and on 1st of that month a vehicle and a quad bike (the latter stolen from a farm in North Yorkshire) were recovered from Holmfields Road, Eston.
A man was arrested after another stolen motorbike was recovered from Eversham Road, Grangetown on 9th February and the following day, a motorbike which had been stolen from South Bank Karting was found in an industrial unit at Nunthorpe.
Finally, on 25th February we recovered a red moped style motorcycle which was suspected to be on false number plates. Our officers had seen it being driven before being dumped in a garden on Leighton Road, Grangetown.
We’ll continue to act on information on nuisance or illegal bikes and vehicles and welcome information on who’s using them and where they’re being stored.
