Police were called by our Fire Brigade colleagues to Langthwaite Walk in Redcar yesterday afternoon after a petrol bomb was launched in a communal area.
The blaze was soon extinguished; only smoke damage was caused and thankfully there were no reports of any injuries to occupants. One woman was brought down from a first floor flat by the Fire Brigade and was checked over by ambulance staff.
Enquiries are underway and scene of crime officers have attended the property as part of our arson investigation.
We would appeal for anyone with information or any relevant doorbell, dash cam or private CCTV from the area from around 3pm yesterday (Monday 17th November) to 3.45pm to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 221211.
If you don’t feel able to speak to police, you can pass information completely anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
