Enquiries are underway after a number of incidents in Redcar over the weekend.
They are believed to be linked and targeted and include injuries to a man in the early hours of Sunday 2nd November in the Lucerne Road/Hawkshead Road area, two instances of fire damage to an address on West Dyke Road (one in the early hours of Sunday and one in the early hours of today).
A house on Hawkshead Road was also subject to criminal damage early on Sunday morning.
We can confirm that no-one inside any of the addresses was injured.
Three men were interviewed regarding these incidents; one in his 40s who was interviewed on suspicion of arson and criminal damage has been bailed pending further enquiries and two (in their 20s and 40s respectively) who were interviewed on suspicion of assault have also been bailed while our investigation continues.
There will be a visible police presence in the area for the foreseeable future. Please speak to patrolling officers with any concerns.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to get in touch with Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference 210501.
If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
