The 26-year-old from Middlesbrough was arrested on Thursday 13 November.
Following questioning in police custody, he has since been charged with two counts of section 18 assault and remanded in custody until his appearance at Teesside Magistrates Court on Saturday 15 November.
He has been released with no further action for attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 31-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assisting an offender has been released on conditional bail.
A 17-year-old boy and a man, aged 24, have been charged with section 18 wounding.
A 44-year-old man has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and money laundering.
It relates to an incident at Orme Court in North Ormesby on Thursday 6 November. The victim is currently still in hospital.
