A 37-year-old man is due in court after being charged with various offences following a serious collision in Middlesbrough.
The collision occurred at around 6.40pm on Wednesday 5th November on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough and involved a white BMW and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he currently remains.
A second collision was reported immediately after this incident near the Poverina Pub in Normanby in which a woman suffered minor injuries.
The 37-year-old has since been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, failure to stop and failure to report an accident.
He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court today (Friday 7th November).
