Police responded to a report of an incident inside of the Belle Vue Social Club on Kendal Road in Hartlepool, shortly after 6pm yesterday, Sunday 23rd November.
During the incident, a 22-year-old man sustained several stab injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance where his condition has been confirmed as serious but not life threatening.
Whilst this will undoubtedly cause some concern those living in the area, this incident appears to have been a targeted attack, with no threat to the wider community.
Detectives are carrying out several lines of investigation today, and anyone with information or footage of the incident is asked to call 101 quoting reference SE25224944.
