The rider of an off-road bike sustained multiple injuries in a collision in Billingham yesterday evening (Saturday 11th April).
The two vehicle RTC happened on Marsh House Avenue at around 7.30pm when the bike collided with a vehicle at the junction with Knowle Road.
The 25-year-old rider was flung from the bike, sustaining injuries which were treated by paramedics; he was then taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment to punctured lungs, a broken arm and a broken leg.
The male driver of the car, a grey Peugeot, sustained whiplash and was checked over at the same hospital before being discharged.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing and we would appeal for any witnesses, anyone who saw the bike being ridden prior to the collision and anyone with relevant footage to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number.
