Working with our partners from Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s antisocial behaviour team, we’ve closed down two properties where persistent nuisance and crime had been reported – affecting quality of life for everyone living nearby.
With the help of the community we collated evidence and presented it at court where, as part of this week’s Operation Artemis activity, we were granted house closure orders for the properties in Kirkham Road, Nunthorpe (where an illegal e-bike was also seized) and on Garsbeck Way in Ormesby.
Greater Eston Neighbourhoods Inspector Anthony Ford said: “Listening to the local community, police and local authority and housing providers will continue to take action against anyone who commits ASB and crime from and around their house – please report all incidents to Cleveland Police so we can take appropriate action.”
Cllr Neil Bendelow, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods at Redcar & Cleveland Council, added: “Working closely with the police but also other agencies and partners on the frontline means we can combine our forces to have a real, serious impact on improving people’s lives.”
