A three-year-old child remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries she sustained in a collision on Byelands Street at its junction with Newstead Road yesterday afternoon (just before 4.15pm on Sunday 2nd August).
The vehicle involved had been travelling eastbound on Newstead Road from Clairville Road when the collision occurred.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the collision and is being questioned, while enquiries continue.
We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw a grey MG car or who witnessed (or caught relevant footage of) the collision itself to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number.
