Proactive Team officers in Middlesbrough witnessed a blue BMW which was reportedly driving dangerously by “drifting” on a roundabout between the A66 and Marton Road in Middlesbrough around 3:30pm on Friday 6th February.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which made off at speed along North Ormesby Road.
Around half an hour later the vehicle was again spotted on Stokesley Road and officers stopped it successfully.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, no insurance and dangerous driving. He has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
Officers are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage showing the vehicle (pictured) driving immediately before or after the incident to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event number 020582.
