A drug dealer who was selling cocaine using a drug line in Thornaby has been jailed.
An investigation by the Dedicated Drugs Unit (DDU) found that 19-year-old Mackenzie Briggs was using a drug line to sell class A drugs between October and November 2025.
A search of his home address found 26 deals of cocaine inside a bin in his bedroom as well as a significant amount of cash.
Briggs was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.
He appeared in court where pleaded guilty to all offences on 19th November 2025 and he was remanded in custody until his sentencing.
On Thursday 15th January, Briggs appeared at Teesside Crown Court where he was jailed for 28 months.
Detective Sergeant Owen Collingwood said: “Illegal drugs cause a significant amount of harm and anyone found to be involved in supplying them will be arrested and brought before the courts.
“We will continue to disrupt organised criminality, seize drugs and protect vulnerable people. Whilst we’re always proactive in our approach, information from the public is vital. If anyone has any information about drug dealing, please keep reporting it to us.”
