Enquiries continue after woman sadly dies in house fire, Guisborough.

Shortly before 7.45pm yesterday evening, Monday 5^th January, police were contacted by our Fire Brigade colleagues, reporting that they were attending a serious house fire at Sandwood Park in Guisborough.

Very sadly the body of an elderly woman was discovered inside the premises.  Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

A cordon remained in place overnight and Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade will continue joint enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire this morning.
