We are very sorry to report that the 19-week-old German Shepherd puppy, Lincoln, which was attacked by another dog in Hemlington yesterday, was sadly unable to survive the injuries he sustained.
Officer in the case Detective Constable Joyce said: “Lincoln’s owners are aware of this update, and all our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing, and we would again appeal for anyone who saw or knew the dog which sadly had to be put down after the attack to get in touch, as well as anyone who witnessed the incident or has any footage from before or during it.
“Please contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 125672.
“Due to the fact arrests have been made, and a criminal investigation is ongoing, we would appeal to the public not to speculate online as this may prejudice legal proceedings. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.”
