The 15-year-old was on Roman Road at the junction of Rockcliffe Road when the proactive team, with help from the police drone, spotted class A drugs being supplied.
Upon officers approaching, the teenager ran off however following a short pursuit on foot he was detained.

A search was made and 19 wraps of crack cocaine, a phone and cash were recovered.

Another search took place at his home, and a CS gas canister was recovered along with a knife.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possession of a section 5 firearm and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
Following questioning in custody following his arrest on Sunday 14 June, he has been released conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Sergeant John Sproson, from Middlesbrough’s proactive team, said: “As always, our officers were in the right place at the right time and spotted what we believe was the supply of drugs.
“Despite the teenager fleeing upon seeing officers, we swiftly gave chase, and he was apprehended. It also led to us seizing drugs, cash and weapons.
“If you believe drug activity is taking place in your neighbourhood, report it to us so we can continue to be in the right place at the right time.”
