The 25 and 29-year-old were arrested and taken to custody for questioning. The 25-year-old was also charged with possession of a knife.
They have since been charged with robbery and remanded in custody until their appearance at Teesside Magistrates Court on Friday 5 June.
It relates to a robbery that is believed to have taken place at 3.20am on Tuesday 2 June at Perfect Chicken at Borough Road and money was stolen.
